Estimator / Contract Administrator

Location: South East Melbourne (Office-based)
Salary: Up to $150,000 + Superannuation

About Us:

We are a residential construction and Commercial construction company based in Melbourne’s South East. We pride ourselves on empowering our clients through high-quality home renovations, extensions, and custom new builds. Our philosophy places understanding, transparency, and a "customer-first" mindset front and centre, ensuring a stress-free journey for homeowners. We demand a high standard of work from ourselves and our subcontractors, consistently delivering beautifully finished homes on time and on budget.

The Role:

Due to a strong pipeline of upcoming work, we are looking for a dedicated Estimator to join our tight-knit team.
In this office-based role, you will take full ownership of the estimating process while also handling a portion of Contract Administration (CA) duties.
You will be working on a diverse range of premium residential projects, with project values spanning from $100K up to $5M.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparing accurate and comprehensive estimates for high-end residential renovations and new builds ($100K - $5m).

  • Undertaking Contract Administration tasks to assist with smooth and profitable project delivery.

  • Reviewing plans, conducting take-offs, and quoting materials and labour.

  • Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers to negotiate rates and ensure our high quality standards are met.

  • Working closely with the broader team to maintain our transparent building process and ensure budgets are strictly managed.

About You:
We are looking for someone who doesn't just know how to read a spreadsheet, but implicitly understands the mechanics of building. To be considered for the role, you will have:

  • Trade Background: An ex-carpenter ("chippy") or someone with extensive hands-on trade experience is our ideal candidate.

  • Site Knowledge: You know exactly how a residential site operates, the sequencing of trades, and can translate that practical site knowledge into highly accurate estimates.

  • Work Ethic: You are autonomous, proactive, and hard-working. You don't need to be micromanaged to get the job done.

  • Communication: You have a professional approach and share our uncompromising commitment to client satisfaction and quality.

What We Offer:

  • A highly competitive salary package of up to $150,000 + Super, commensurate with your experience.

  • The opportunity to work on beautifully designed, high-end residential projects.

  • A stable, office-based role with a company that values its staff just as much as its clients.

  • A supportive, professional team environment where communication and quality are paramount.
